a continuation of my continued pursuit of proper web editorial, I decided to tackle one of the Internet’s most trafficked news portals: the New York Times. On the one hand, I love how easily it compresses so much information onto its home screen. That said, the individual articles are busy, obscuring written content in favor of ads and cliché/overused social networking features.
I chose to realign John Markoff’s obituary for Steven Paul Jobs (may he rest), giving it a more unique layout. A newspaper needs to give its online version as much thought and care as they do for print. Especially if they are going to make people pay good money to see it.
